With an illustrious career spanning over two and a half decades in public school education, Stephen Higgins stands as a dedicated advocate for creating inclusive and equitable learning environments. Currently, he serves as the Director of Equity and Inclusion for South Windsor Public Schools, where he plays a pivotal role in shaping the educational landscape.

Prior to his current role, Stephen served as an Associate Principal for Windsor Public Schools, lending his expertise to the administrative leadership team. Before that, he held the position of Dean of Students for the Public Safety Academy in the CREC organization, further solidifying his commitment to fostering positive school climates.

Stephen's journey in education commenced as a devoted classroom teacher, dedicating the first 17 years of his career to imparting knowledge to students in his hometown community of East Hartford, Connecticut. His passion for educational excellence is not only evident in his teaching but is complemented by a profound understanding of organizational dynamics.

Beyond his professional pursuits, Stephen is a loving and sports-oriented father of three daughters. His personal experiences as a parent uniquely inform his empathetic approach to fostering equity and inclusion within the educational landscape.
