SERC is seeking nominations of parents from Connecticut schools and/or community organizations to highlight and honor exemplars of parental involvement who have made positive changes in their child's environment and a difference in their 2024/2025 school year.

SERC’s Parental Involvement Recognition Award was inspired by Project Appleseed, the national campaign for public school improvement and home of National Parental Involvement Day, celebrated each year in November.

Award Criteria

Award recipients will be selected based on the following criteria:

• Active involvement in their child's/children's school and/or community
• Support of their local school and contributions to a high-quality education for all children
• Evidence of their ability to make a difference in their local school and/or community
• Dedication and advocacy to ensure equity for all parents and their children
