Due to the ongoing water emergency in the city of Waterbury, SERC's offices and library are closed Dec 16 and 17.
SERC staff are working remotely and can be reached by email and phone. Reminder: Library materials may not be returned when the library is closed.
SERC Statement on Attacks against Asian Americans
We at SERC are shocked and saddened about the recent crimes against Asian communities, including the senseless deaths in Atlanta. Under our Racial Equity and Social Justice efforts, we are unequivocal about the role of white supremacy in perpetuating lies that fellow human beings are a threat, and using vile excuses to dominate and attack innocent people. While it’s easy to denounce violence, we have an obligation to call out and never accept the common and persistent racism that ultimately leads extremists to take lives. We stand with our Asian brothers and sisters, friends, colleagues, and members of our communities and forcefully condemn actions of bigotry and hate.
It is the policy of the State Education Resource Center (SERC) that no person shall be discriminated against or excluded from participation in any SERC programs and activities on the basis of race, color, religion, age, marital or civil union status, national origin, ancestry, sex/gender, intellectual disability, physical disability, political beliefs, sexual orientation, or gender identity or expression.
