SERC seeks to build the capacity and skill of educators to respond effectively to the needs of diverse learners and their families. We offer a variety of learning opportunities for educators, from conferences and workshops to technical assistance and coaching.

Coaching for educators—which may include teachers, administrators, instructional coaches, and other professionals—may include alignment of a teacher’s evaluation with their professional learning plans; reviewing policies and practices; and evaluation of supports and services for students with disabilities, English learners, and students of color. SERC can provide customized training and technical assistance supports on instructional strategies that both implement the student’s goals and serve the entire classroom, incorporating the principles of frameworks and practices such as Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and co-teaching. Ultimately, participating educators reflect on their practices and how they impact their students.
