How many resources (books, tests, kits) can I take out?
You may borrow 3 resources at one time from each of the 10 collections within the Library. The ten collections are: Books, Family Books, Young People’s Books, Tests, Instructional Materials, Inservice Education, School-Family-Community Partnership resources, CD-ROM software programs, Vertical File resources (pamphlets and booklets), and Web Resources. If you already have 3 resources in a given collection and want another, you will need to return 1 resource for each new resource from that collection.

How long is the loan period?
The loan period for resources borrowed from the Library is three (3) weeks (21 days).
|
Can I renew the resources (books, tests, kits)?
The Library allows a one week (7 days) renewal as long as the resources are not on reserve for another patron. Resources may be renewed online using the library catalog (click here for our online catalog) or by calling the library.

Can I reserve resources (books, tests, kits, etc.)?
Yes! You may reserve resources that are currently out of the Library. Staff will call you when the reserve comes in and you will have three (3) days to pick up the reserve.
The Library does not take advance reserve requests, however, we do suggest that if you need a resource for a particular time period, you search the Athena card catalog approximately four (4) weeks prior to the date you need the resource to see the whether the resource is in or out. Then call the Library and ask to have the resource placed on reserve for you.
You can also reserve resources online by logging in to our online catalog using your Library membership number and password. Click here for our online catalog.

Can I borrow bound or single issues of journals and magazines that the Library owns?
No, however you may use the copiers located in the Library to copy articles from bound or single issue journals and magazines. Articles available in online databases can be printed directly from the computer.
The cost is $0.10 per page. You do not need coins for the copiers. At the end of your visit to the Library, please tell the Librarian at the Circulation Desk how many copies and/or print-outs you have made. We accept cash or checks (made out to Rensselaer at Hartford).

Is there a drop box?
