SERC recently worked with Barkhamsted School to bring well-known author and consultant Kathy Collins to classrooms. Kathy demonstrated writing workshop lessons in grades 1, 3 and 5. Teachers from both Barkhamsted and other nearby schools observed the lessons and discussed them with Kathy afterwards. A big thanks to teachers Kathy Loomis, Jeff Szczesniak, and Mo Barton for hosting us in their classrooms!
Kathy visits schools throughout the world to provide professional development to teachers. Her books include Growing Readers, Reading for Real, I am Reading, and The Teacher You Want to Be.
