Overview

Developing Tomorrow's Professionals (DTP) has honored SERC and Interim Executive Director Ingrid M. Canady for its "outstanding work on our behalf." At an annual recognition breakfast in September, DTP Founder Stephen Hoag, Ph.D., presented Canady with a plaque recognizing SERC for its "great diligence to provide the DTP with creative concepts and initiatives that will provide future support for the DTP program."

SERC produced a video for DTP, an academic and leadership program specifically designed for Black and Hispanic male high school students and young men in adult education. The students receive both academic and professional mentors and maintain an intensive academic schedule at Southern Connecticut State University. The vast majority of the participants are enrolled in Advanced Placement classes and matriculate to a 4-year university, many in Ivy League and other top schools.

SERC interviewed mentors and graduates of the program as well as Dr. Hoag and education officials seeking financial support of the program.
