In this professional learning opportunity, educators will examine their own standards-based English language arts curricular unit and identify ways to implement the principles and strategies of universal design for learning (UDL), technology and accessible educational materials. On day one, participants will identify resources and strategies that will enable them to increase access to literacy skills for all students within the framework of tiered intervention.
Between day one and day two, participants will implement the strategies in their classrooms. On day two, a half day, participants will share their experiences, successes and challenges with the group.
Two half-days of technical assistance will be available to three participating schools. Details will be shared on the first day of this session.
Audience: Teams consisting of a General Education Teacher plus one of the following: Special Education Teacher, EL Teacher, Reading Consultant/Teacher, Speech and Language Consultant/Teacher, etc.
