Beginning as an elementary school teacher in Barbados, Wendy has been engaged in education throughout her career through teaching, direct clinical service, consultation, program development, and research in both educational and clinical settings. She has been involved in the strategic planning and management at SERC while leading SERC’s Early Childhood Education and Curriculum & Instruction Teams. More recently, she has been responsible for all aspects of developing the SERC Foundation as the Foundation’s first Director. Wendy believes that when faced with confronting the impact on systemic discrimination, everyone must critically examine the beliefs and worldview that we always thought to be true.
Wendy is an avid reader, wife, and mother of two lovely daughters. Wendy says, “Imagining the world that my girls have to navigate sustains my passion and keeps me honest. Truth be told, they keep me honest by challenging my perspective and keeping me current. My love for them always emboldens me.”
